Bremerton couple riding in motorhome escape fire in Mason County
- A couple escaped flames Bremerton growing out of the camper van they were traveling Tuesday evening, according to the Washington State Patrol.The couple was headed north on Highway 101 about a mile north of Shelton, shortly after 17 o'clock, when John Coombe, driving a 1999 Foretravel motorhome smells. He pulled closer Sanderson Way, and the couple managed to get out, noting the flames from the back of the couple's camper.
"Everything happened so fast," Coombe wife, Claudia, said Wednesday.
A policeman arrived on the scene quickly.The fire, however, was not done, the spread in 2001, the couple Chevrolet Blazer they were towing, overhead power lines and to brush the sides of the road.
Claudia said she and her husband lost a lot in the fire fast moving but are happy to be safe. They are covered by insurance.
Mason County Fire investigate the causes of the fire.
