Homburg. Die neue Miss Homburg heißt Giulia Möckel. Am Maifest-Freitag konnte sie sich im Feld von zwölf Bewerberinnen gegen eine Konkurrenz durchsetzen, die sich buchstäbliche sehen lassen konnte. Die jungen Damen machten es der Jury, unter anderem Peter Emser als Geschäftsführer der Homburger Werbegemeinschaft, dem Kulturbeigeordneten Raimund Konrad und seinem Stadtmerketing-Pendant Axel Ulmcke, nicht leicht. Erst nach zwei Durchgängen stand fest: Eben Giulia Möckel auf dem ersten, auf den Plätzen zwei und drei Elena Detterer und Sarah-Jäne Sänger. Für die nächste Runde im Entscheid um Miss Germany 2011 haben sich nun alle drei qualifiziert. Einziger „Mangel“ der neuen Miss: Sie ist alles, aber keine Homburgerin - aus Ramstein-Miesebach stammt die Verwaltungsfachangestellte. Mit der Kür der Schönsten verschaffte sich das diesjährige Maifest einen gelungenen Start, sieht man einmal von einem durchaus namhaften Regenguss am Freitagabend ab, der ein bisschen vom „Flair“ vergangener kalter und verregneter Homburger Mai-Lobgesänge brachte. Doch alles in allem: Die Entscheidung, eine Woche später das Maifest zu feiern, hat sich in Sachen Wetterstabilität ausgezahlt. Vor am Sonntag, gab’s blauen Himmel und hohe Temperaturen als Beilage zum bunten Festtreiben und dem verkaufsoffenen Sonntag. Beides zusammen hatte schon am Mittag zahlreiche Gäste in die Innenstadt gelockt. Und das nicht nur aus dem näheren und etwas weiteren Umfeld. Von Besuchern aus Rheinland-Pfalz, Hessen oder auch Baden-Würrtemberg zeugten Nummernschilder an parkenden Autos in der City.
Mittendrin im Trubel der Besucher: Die Gruppe Samba Total aus Marpingen. In Homburg schon lange keine Unbekannten mehr, sorgte die Formation mit treibenden Rythmen und dynamischen Tänzen für Urlaubsstimmung zwischen den Ständen des Krammarktes und der zahlreichen gastronomischen Angebote. Ein Kontrastangebot dazu: Die beiden Bühnenprogramm auf dem Christian-Weber-Platz und dem historischen Marktplatz. Auf Ersterem gings mit Country-Musik und Linedance durchweg amerikanisch zu, während der Saarländische Rundfunk Zweiteren mit seiner Veranstaltungsreihe „Singendes, klingendes Dreiländereck“ zur Zone für Freunde eher gesetzterer Musik machte.

There are "digital" lenses (Nikon DX or Canon EF-S) which can not cover a full 35mm frame, and are typically extremely wide (to compensate for the "crop factor" mentioned previously), but any "digitally integrated" or similar lens from Sigma or Tamron is nothing but marketing hype, IMHO. I have not tried Dish IP TV. If you are only looking at Indian programming, you may want to look at WatchIndia (dot) TV. I must point out that the quality was not great (especially while viewing on a large screen, it was good enough a Dual Core laptop). Recently they have introduced a STB option. I am guessing this maybe good. Anyway, they have a 15 day trial, which you can check out.
