The Fitness and Triathlon Club Sprint Triathlon held on the July 30 was a success, according to Stephen Bustos, who says, “Congratulations are in order to all of the participants, especially Peggy and Jana Basubas who completed their first ever triathlons.” Peggy and Jana are pictured, below, from left in orange swim caps. There were two relay teams and seven individuals in total that conquered the .5-mile swim, 12.5-mile bike ride and 3.1-mile run. The Fitness and Triathlon Club is looking forward to the “Paddle & Pedal Regatta” on August 20. The following week, the club will hold its second Olympic distance triathlon on August 27. Tennis Club
      The Tennis Club’s next event is the Blind Partner Draw on August 20 at 5 p.m., which will include a barbecue. The cost of the tournament is $10 per person; the deadline to sign up is Wednesday, August 17, by contacting Tournament Directors Rob and Kristy Toups at 244-9795.
      The Tennis Club invites residents to come out for Open Play on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 a.m. It is open to all levels of players and is a way to meet other players without committing to a schedule. For more information, contact Dave Harrigan at 746-3460 or davenjean1958@yahoo.com.

Roadrunners
      Beginning this month, Roadrunners RV Club meetings will move from Roadrunner Park to the Lodge. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month, from 5 to 7 p.m. Social hour begins at 5; catered dinner and meeting begin at 6. Residents who enjoy the RV life are encouraged to join as members. For more information, call John Sullivan at 244-4626.
