15 year-old entrepreneur starts Rosso Solini Shop for designer shoe look-a-like
It's any young girl's dream...having a collection of $2000/pair designer heels and sandals, to wear at her heart's content. For 15 year-old Tara Haughton, an Irish girl, she was inspired by the models in magazines who always wore red sole shoes no matter what outfit they were wearing.
Haughton stumbled (literally) upon the idea at a family wedding during her school break.
"Last summer we were away at a family wedding in Spain and for a group photo, we had to throw red confetti," Houghton said. "And where I had taken the price sticker off my shoe was still sticky and when I threw it up, it got stuck to the bottom of my shoe. And later that night a woman asked me if I was wearing Louboutin's because she had seen the flash of red as I was walking."
A few meetings and a Google translate later, Haughton paired with 3M to manufacturer the product. The Rosso Solini (Italian for "red soles") Shop, was up and running shortly after. (Scroll down to keep reading story)
The Rosso Solini shop began producing red soles, mimicking Christian Louboutin shoes, that will stick onto the sole of your high heels. Orders started coming in from around the world, and like any entrepreneur, Haughton saw the need and started to expand. The shop now offers a variety of colors and prints, and in pack of one or three.
