Sunday Favorites: Building a Camping Legacy

BRADENTON – Sometimes it takes a tragedy to bring out the best in a family. When I was around 5 years old, my Dad’s sister Kara was killed by a drunk driver at age 23. It was a very heartbreaking period and I had never seen my father cry before it happened (except when he faked allergies during sad movies). However, my grandfather Bob Bates made a decision that would forever change our family. He purchased seven acres on the Peace River and named it “River Trails.” It was a place where the tributaries of the river and the different branches of our family could connect.

Bob Bates or “Toppop” was not my biological grandfather, but he was the only grandfather I’d ever known. Both of my parents’ fathers had passed in mid-life. So for Toppop, spending time with our family also meant bonding with his stepchildren Guy, Gina and Melia. Every camping milestone they crossed while building the River Trail legacy seemed to bring them closer. The first time we ventured into the wilderness that would eventually become River Trails, we struggled to separate the thick brush.  A live oak canopy shaded us from above. The only path led narrowly through the thick foliage on the forest floor which harbored many obstacles such as banana spiders, thorns and rattlesnakes. It seemed like a great feat when we finally reached the main site on the river. Nothing hampered us from achieving our goal, and making the property into a family campground. For a few years, it consumed our every weekend. During the winter months, all three families would campout and do their fares share to contribute. Throughout this period our houses back home went severely neglected, but River Trails was looking fantastic! It wasn’t long before we had bush-hogged a sturdy road to replace the narrow, constructed a pavilion instead of the leaky tarp and upgraded from tents to used motor-homes. We kept meeting out there every weekend rain or shine.

Just driving out to the property was an adventure. It wasn’t the 45 minute trip to rural Wauchula that was interesting; it was the incredibly bumpy ride on the rocky country road that leads to our property and put everyone in frenzy. The 1970s motor-home would be shaking violently down the dirt road. Everyone had to hold cabinets shut or plates and cups would soar through the air. The extreme conditions only allowed us to drive at about 7 miles an hour.

If you would like too start approaching women in the day department stores r a fantastic place to start. Department stores r normally filled with common people on the weekends and luckily for ya nearly all r women, as a result of frankly, ladies love too look for merchandise to buy. I find that meeting women in a department store is one of the simplest approaches ya can make in the course of the day, because the girls give ya all the material ya need too start a dialogue with them.

I remember when I was first starting out I said to think it was impossible to approach attractive women in the day let alone begin approaching ladies in a department store. The more I really had a look at what was going on in department stores the clearer it became that this is a totally untapped market, there r women all around and desirable different bars and night clubs there is very little competition at all. So I spent a lot of time there and I had most great favorable outcome. I will give ya a few uncommon ways to open conversations shortly.

before you begin walking up to beautiful women in any department store, just fancy in any situation you need to see what's going on, what is she doing, what is the girl buying. When you see an attractive women shopping not any thing you like from can be as it seems to me for example, if ya come by a lady checking out male after-shave chances r the girl is not purchasing that for herself, though if the women is testing out 4 or 5 unique aftershaves likelihood r the women is not purchasing it for a boyfriend or partner as the girl would absorb what the guy wears. at the present fancy I always ask this is not a fool proof process but more times than not I am correct.

So how do ya open a communication with a magnificent girl in a department store? sincere I will give you two unique openers that I have said. just before I do I would fancy too tell ya a funny store, it's more of a not what too do when ya are walking up to beautiful women. Ok, so I was out today shopping for a new suit for a party I am going to, out of the corner of my eye I saw this classy red noodle girl, with her hands full of shopping bags. As the girl was moving through the store a further guy observed the women as well, not it was obvious this fellow had nothing to say, so the guy deliberately bumped into her then used "I can support you carry some of those as an apology for bumping such a thing a cute lady.
