The Voice, 101 Ways to Leave a Game Show and Combat Hospital on Tuesday Night

The Voice, 9 p.m., NBC

It’s the solstice, which means it’s still light out when the 9 p.m., shows starts. This throws off my body clock and I end up watching Law & Order reruns until 2 in the morning. I am easily confused. Tonight, all but Javier deserve to go home on Team Adam, and all but Vicci deserve to be sent packing on Team CeeLo. Thank goodness CeeLo had the shades back on last week – his eyes are truly terrifying.

101 Ways To Leave A Game Show, 9 p.m., ABC

Talk about a one-two punch! ABC is following up its ridiculously popular smash-‘em, bash-‘em hit Wipeout with this little piece of brilliance. Tonight, “Players who answer questions incorrectly leave the show by being strapped to the wing of a plane, dropped off the side of an 18-wheeler, flipped upside down in an exploding car or launched by dynamite.” You know we are going to watch this over and over again.

Combat Hospital, 10 p.m., ABC

Did you like MASH? Because this is MASH, without the humor, and it’s set in Afghanistan instead of Korea. “Follow the frantic lives of a military hospital's resident doctors and nurses as they navigate the relentless life-and-death battles on the operating table, and the never-ending conflicts that arise from working in a war zone of Southern Afghanistan. Modeled after the real Canadian-lead NATO Role 3 Hospital, the set is a meticulous re-creation of a portion of the hospital compound and the vast Kandahar Airfield, including the helicopter landing zone, boardwalk area and barracks, which housed over 15,000 military and civilian personnel.”

DAVE HEDGER / INNERSPHERE / 18 WHEELER « ACID TED

18 Wheeler realise that the boundaries in music are blurring and have therefore got some of their favourite ‘dance’ acts to remix songs from their ‘Year Zero’ album. For those of you not familiar with Dave Hedger his past projects include ‘ Innersphere ‘ which were signed to the Sabrettes label whilst most recentlyhe has been recording for Malawi Records. Dave Strips down the track to its bare essentials and utlises his trademark sounds to produce a deep hard-edged techno marathon which will no doubt work extremely well on the dancefloors at which it was  most definitely aimed! On the other side The Aloof mix slowly fades in with a melodic wash remeniscent of their own material which soon gives way to perfect multi-layered percussion, deep pulsing bass and ominous rumbles… the vocal is used sparingly and effectively, adding it to their own distinctive production techniques and fusing it expertly with the mellow techno breakbeat. A fantastic mix which breathes soul and space into the track. The most popular remix on the last18 Wheeler single was the Ultra Living mix. Ultra Living are two Japanese gents who (as the story goes) strolled into the Creation offices with a DAT of their material and asked them there and then for a deal, and, Creaton said yes! Their mix of ‘Crabs’ is an astounding drum ‘n’ bass cut with a fresh, funky feel which explains why Creation are so excited!!
