Re-launched MP3.com goes live

CBS Interactive Music Group, owners of MP3.com since 2008, is promoting the new-look service with a 30-day marketing campaign.

Artists making free tracks available include Arcade Fire, Paul McCartney, Mumford & Sons, My Morning Jacket, Britney Spears and Jennifer Hudson.

As well as promoting established acts, MP3.com will also offer a platform for emerging and unsigned acts. The refreshed site will include a free MP3 of the day, run a label of the week feature and provide coverage of selected cities/regions and their contribution to music.

In related news, the new MP3.com will extend the Power Of Sound marketing partnership between HP and Last.fm (also owned by CBS), promoting the Beats audio technology on HP laptops and PCs.

As part of the marketing here, a series of pop-up acoustic gigs will take place in London between now and August, hosted by Black Cab Sessions and curated by Last.fm. It will culminate in a major live music event in the capital with details being announced imminently.
